AuthoredUp normally uses an AuthoredUp cookie to keep you signed in to the extension. Note that this is not a LinkedIn native cookie.
If you have blocked third-party cookies in your browser or have other browser security restrictions, you may experience issues with the extension repeatedly signing you out.
As an alternative, you can sign in to the AuthoredUp extension using an extension token. An extension token is a secure, automatically generated credential that you can copy from the AuthoredUp platform and use to sign in to the extension.
To sign in using an extension token:
1. Go to the Account and Settings page in the AuthoredUp platform and open the User tab.
2. Scroll down to the Extension section and click Use sign-in token instead. Your token will be copied to your clipboard automatically.
Note: You can click Open the extension / Instant login to sign in to the extension automatically using the same login credentials as your AuthoredUp platform session.
3. Go back to LinkedIn and open the AuthoredUp extension by clicking the green AuthoredUp badge on the right side of the interface.
4. On the sign-in screen, you can sign in using your email and password or an OAuth method. If you want to continue using your extension token, click Use extension token instead.
5. Paste the token into the available field and click Sign in with token.
You are now signed in to the AuthoredUp extension using your extension token.
Security considerations
Keep your extension token secure and do not share it with anyone. Anyone who has access to your token could use it to access your AuthoredUp data.
If you accidentally expose your token, sign out of AuthoredUp either from the extension or the platform. This will invalidate the token.
The next time you sign in to the platform, you will need to generate a new token.
