We have received intermittent reports from users that scheduled posts sometimes disappear either from the AuthoredUp calendar or LinkedIn's native scheduled post list.
This is unfortunately a long-standing problem with LinkedIn's own native scheduler.
Here are a few online forums where people have discussed this issue:
- Help! Post scheduling error, are you having the same issue?
- Why can't I see the post I scheduled in the list of scheduled posts?
Since AuthoredUp merely proxies scheduling to the native functionality (allowing us to support all post attachments), we are impacted by this as well.
It seems the underlying problem here is that LinkedIn becomes unable to show a scheduled post, so it becomes invisible in the scheduled post list. When AuthoredUp doesn't see it in the list, it thinks you have deleted it, so it marks it as deleted, causing the post to disappear from our calendar as well.
Note that in most observed cases, the post still exists, and will get published on time. You are just unable to edit or reschedule it, which can be terrifying if you realize you've made a mistake.
So how do we mitigate this issue?
The best solution would be for LinkedIn to finally fix bugs in their system. 😅
In the mean time, there have been reports that people were able to see and edit their disappeared posts from LinkedIn's native mobile app.
On our end, we are experimenting with a few ideas on how to work around this. Stay tuned for more info.
